The parable of the sower.
Jesus would teach his desciples using stories called parables.
The farmer went out into the feild and started to sow the seed. As he was scattering the seed some fell on the path and birds came and started to eat it. Some landed on some rocky places and did not have much soil. It sprouted up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, wich grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop-a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. He who has ears, let him hear.
In this parable it shows the effect of Jesus and his word. Jesus is the farmer and the seed is his word. Now when the bird eats the seed the bird is Satan, making it where you don't understand the word of God. And when the seed lands on the rocky soil it is you getting really excited about his word and then afterwards you for get about the word because it doesn't take root in your heart. Now when it lands in the the thorns it is you being influenced by other people into other things besides God. But nwhen it lands in the good soil it is you hearing his word and it takes root in your heart and it stays with you forever and ever with you also spreading his word to everybody who will listen to you.
Now I want to ask you a question, where are you?
